Twitter for WW-P

Twitter for WW-P

Over the past few months, Twitter has implemented changes that have impacted the communication system used by the district to notify parents of school closings, bus delays, and other timely information. WWP_Notices (which broadcasts district alert notifications) and WWP_Bus (which broadcasts district transportation issues/updates) are Twitter accounts that send notifications to parent’s cell phones. In the past parents did not need to have a Twitter account to receive these notifications, but recently there has been a large increase in messaging issues when using the 40404 feature. Therefore if you would like to receive notices from the district accounts you must set up your own personal Twitter account. If you had received notifications in the past, it is possible you will no longer receive notifications.

Listed below are links with instructions on how to set up a Twitter account, how to manage alerts from specific accounts and the names of the accounts that provide district information. The district will continue to review our process for distribution of notifications and we will let you know if any changes are made to how this important information is distributed.
