to do list

We look forward to welcoming back our Hybrid 1 and All-In students to our schools Monday, April 12. The week of April 19 will welcome Hybrid Week 2 and All-In students. All learning models will continue to follow the early dismissal schedule followed by virtual instruction for all students in the afternoon. For many students and staff, this day may feel like the first day of school all over again. As many students have not yet been in their school building this year, the day will be filled with lots of excitement and anticipation.

Below are a few details that will assist those who will be joining us in-person for the first time as well as serve as reminders for our hybrid students who will be transitioning to All-In.

Daily Health Screening Forms: Parents/guardians are reminded to complete the Daily Health Screening form for your child(ren) every day that they will be in-person. The form is located in the Genesis Parent Portal under the Forms tab. The form should be completed by 7:15 a.m. for middle and high school students and 8:15 a.m. for elementary school students. When a student is sick, he/she should stay home.

Temperature Screening: Entrance to all WW-P school buildings will be limited to only certain doors. These doors will be equipped with thermal imaging systems that will scan the temperature of all who are entering the building. Should a staff member or student present with a temperature above 100.0, they will be escorted to another room to have their temperature scanned. If the second temperature reads elevated, the student’s parents/guardians will be contacted for pickup.

Face Masks: Face masks are required while on District property including school buses. Please be advised that neither neck gaiters nor valve masks provide appropriate protection and are not permitted for use on school or district grounds. Please use a mask with two or more layers that fits snugly over the nose and face. If a student does not have an appropriate mask, one will be provided by the district upon request. Face shields are also available by request for both students and staff. Parents may contact the main office in their school building and their student will be provided with a face shield that they can carry with them.

Water Bottles: Students are encouraged to bring their own pre-filled water bottles to school for daily use. Elementary students may also bring a snack with them.

Inside WW-P Schools: All staff and students will be required to wear a mask. All students and staff shall keep appropriate social distancing per the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and New Jersey Department of Health guidance. Students will be encouraged to wash hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Hand sanitizer will also be available throughout the schools.

Genesis Parent/Portal: Parents are reminded to please check Genesis after 5 p.m. this afternoon for updated transportation information. Adjustments to bus schedules may also occur during the weeks of April 12 and 19 as buses settle into their new schedules.

Student Medication: If your child is attending in-person for the first time this year and has medications and/or doctor’s orders that you typically provide to the school nurse, please contact your school nurse.

I would be remiss if I did not take this opportunity to express my sincere appreciation and gratitude for the administrators, teachers, staff, counselors, child study team members, nurses, parents, transportation department, custodial and maintenance staff, and all those who worked tirelessly to make this next transition as smooth as possible.

Sincerely,

David Aderhold, Ed.D

Superintendent of Schools
