A strong partnership between families and educators is integral to supporting student success. A great home and school connection opportunity will occur in November during the observance of American Education Week (Nov. 17-21, 2025). This week is an annual celebration across the country. The week promotes collaboration between parents/caregivers and educators. Once again this year, elementary and middle school families will be invited into their child(ren)’s classrooms for an opportunity to experience a typical day at school. Please keep an eye out for emails from your child’s teachers and/or school with additional details as the week gets closer.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a hot topic in our schools and community. AI in WWPRSD supports powerful learning and belonging. Across K–12, our students will develop age-appropriate AI literacy—safe, ethical, and content-specific—so they can learn deeply, act responsibly, and thrive as whole children in an inclusive community. On Friday, Oct. 24, 2025, WW-P held its first Parent University webinar of the 2025-2026 school year. The panel discussion topic for the webinar was Artificial Intelligence in our School Community. Panelists included district and building administrators who discussed topics such as how AI is currently being used by our students and staff, guardrails that have been set up for the school community regarding the use of AI, and tools that are being used in the classroom. Please click here to view a recording of this webinar. Our next Parent University Lunch and Learn will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 9, at 11 a.m. and will focus on high school affinity groups. More information and registration details will be sent closer to the date.

We continue to see targeted and aggressive social media posts, mailers, signage, internet advertisements, and large box trucks with LED signs throughout our community from the “advocacy” organization, Wake Up Call New Jersey (WUCNJ). The District vehemently rejects the incomplete and incorrect narrative this group is promoting. To read the previously shared District response, please click here. In addition to the testing information that was included in the District’s Oct. 7 response, we encourage our school community to watch Chief Academic Officer, Dr. Barbara Gould’s, and Director of Data, Assessment and Accountability, Dr. Melissa Pearson’s annual district testing report that was presented at this week’s Board of Education meeting held on Oct. 28. This presentation is given annually in the Fall of each school year and is a holistic and accurate report of student assessment and progress across the District. To view the presentation and the most up-to-date District testing information, please click here

Earlier this morning, an email was sent to WW-P families and staff from the District regarding local food resources and an update on SNAP benefits. I encourage all families to view the email for resources and also info on how we can help local families in need.
