This week we welcomed back students and staff from a well deserved Spring Recess. I hope the week-long break provided all with the opportunity to spend time with friends and family, travel, or just relax and enjoy the time away from school.
The month of May is a busy one! The month starts off with NJSLA testing (grades 3-9; and grade 11 science only) and concludes with many exciting outside the classroom experiences for our students. From field trips and grade level celebrations to field days and concerts, in May we start the final sprint to the end of the school year. These events and opportunities are not possible without the support of our staff, parent/guardian volunteers and our PTA/PTSAs.
The first full week of May is also Teacher Appreciation Week. Ahead of this week, I want to share my gratitude to our WW-P educators for all they do in service to our students, families, and peers. Please know your impact extends beyond the classroom. Thank you for your efforts and your passion.
At the beginning of April, all ten school district superintendents in Mercer County, shared a letter with the Mercer community reaffirming their school districts’ unwavering commitment to building and sustaining safe and supportive school communities. The letter, sent from the Mercer County Association of School Administrators, pledges to continue the work of focusing on ensuring every student within their district feels seen, respected, and heard regardless of their background, ability/disability, or identity.
School Calendar: A reminder that currently all WW-P schools are closed in observance of Memorial Day on Monday, May 26, 2025. Due to a mild winter, WW-P still has one additional emergency closing day for the 2024-2025 school year. The District will make a final decision regarding closing schools on Friday, May 23 (the remaining emergency closing day), closer to the date.
