Dear WW-P Community,
Student and Family Supports:
As a member of our WW-P school district for the past fifteen school years, I remain grateful for the continued support of our families, students, staff and greater West Windsor and Plainsboro communities. WW-P is a beautifully diverse community that has remained committed to the rich cultural, racial, ethnic, religious, gender/gender identity, sexual orientation, disability/abilities, national origin, and socio-economic class of our students and greater community. We remain passionately focused upon the academic, social, and emotional development for each of our students. During this holiday season, let us continue to work together to learn and support one another. This season brings great joys for many but it also is challenging for others. Please know that the school district and our staff members have many supports and partnerships that can assist those who are struggling. If you or someone you know needs support please remember to reach out to your child school counselor, case manager, or school administrators for assistance.
Health Reminders:
With the recent celebration of Diwali, the upcoming Thanksgiving Recess, and winter holiday season upon us, many of us have and will continue to gather with friends and family to enjoy the holiday season. It is important that as we gather, we work together to keep everyone healthy. Here are a few simple steps to follow:
-
Get a flu shot – it’s not too late to be protected!
-
Avoid touching eyes, nose or mouth.
-
Wash hands often.
-
Cover coughs and sneezes with your sleeve or a tissue.
-
Avoid sick people.
-
Stay home if you are sick. Keep students home if they are sick too. Remain home until fever free for 24 hours without fever reducing medication.
-
Routine cleaning and disinfecting of frequently touched surfaces and shared objects that may be contaminated with germs like flu.
-
Have an adequate supply of tissues, soap, paper towels, alcohol-based hand rubs and disposable wipes.
Flu season is upon us and our school nurses are starting to see cases of respiratory illnesses among our students and staff. To find a flu shot appointment nearby please contact your family physician, pediatrician or visit Vaccines.gov. In addition, residential households in the U.S. can order one set of four free at-home COVID-19 tests from USPS.com. For more information, please click here.
